Occasionally, we will be greeted by someone in the morning by, \u201cIs anyone in the hospital?\u201d  Or, \u201cWas there an ambulance here last night?\u201d  Whatever happened to \u201cGood morning!\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As chaplain, it has been our privilege to make several hospital visits during the past couple months to see residents of The Homes.\u00a0 Some have been quick emergency room visits, some have been for scheduled procedures, and some have been for longer stays as the medical team has tried to diagnose a concern.\u00a0 In each case, we have been able to visit with the patient in their room, pray with them, and hopefully be an encouragement to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One thing we have noticed in each room that we have visited is the temperature, cold!  The patient is usually given socks to wear along with their hospital gown.  They may bring a sweater or jacket that they can drape over themselves, but that does little to keep them warm.  We would like to give a small blanket to each patient we visit, something that they could comfortably use while sitting in a chair or in their bed, yet not too bulky that it is difficult to bring home.  So, we are keeping an eye out on sales locally.  And if any of you who enjoy quilting would like to, we would welcome your donations of small, lightweight lap blankets.  What a joy that will be to be able to give to those who are in the hospital!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
