How many combined years have the \u201cretired\u201d residents of The Homes served the Lord as missionaries?\u00a0 You guessed it, 5,433 years (give or take a few)!\u00a0 Of the more than 130 retired missionaries living at The Homes, some served the Lord as church planters, some as language teachers, some as translators, some as Bible School teachers, some as school teachers to missionary kids, some as printers, . . . and the list goes on and on.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Over the last six months, we have had the joy of both serving these retired missionaries as their chaplain and to hear their stories.  Stories of jungle treks, stories of sickness, stories of nationals believing, and stories of God\u2019s provisions.  Many of their stories have been mingled with heartaches. <\/p>\n\n\n

Just because they have \u201cretired,\u201d it doesn\u2019t mean they spend all day playing Bingo and putting puzzles together.\u00a0 After their retirement, these residents have continued to serve the Lord here at The Homes for a total of an additional 447 years by helping in the kitchen, house cleaning, mowing lawns, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n

The retired missionaries have many things in common . . . they are old, many are struggling with health issues, and 32 of them are widows or widowers.\u00a0 They are all prayer warriors. They are also thankful, thankful for God\u2019s daily provision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are so thankful for you all who partner with us for God\u2019s glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
