With only 16 more days left in the States, our family is making final preparations for our departure.\u00a0 One room at a time, we are going through the mission home that we have been staying in.\u00a0 With every item, we ask ourselves many questions.\u00a0 For example, \u201cAre we taking this to the Philippines?\u201d, \u201cIf we aren\u2019t taking it, are we putting it into storage?\u201d, and \u201cIf not into storage, then what do we do with it?\u201d\u00a0 So far, we have gone through Stephen\u2019s office, our bedroom, the schoolroom, the laundry room, and even the garage.\u00a0 We just have a few more rooms left.\u00a0 It is amazing how much \u201cstuff\u201d we can collect in 12 months!\u00a0 On the other hand, each item comes with a face or a memory.\u00a0 What do we mean?\u00a0 As we put a book into our suitcase, we think of the pastor who gave it to Stephen.\u00a0 As we pack a hat, we think of our time at Yellowstone.\u00a0 As we debate about a toy, we think of Grandma and Grandpa who gave it to one of our children.\u00a0 Each item sorted is a reminder of all we have for which to be thankful.\u00a0 Of course, you don\u2019t have to pack to be thankful.\u00a0 As you read this, what do you see around you that you can thank God for?\u00a0 Your Bible?\u00a0 Your children?\u00a0 \u201cIn every thing give thanks,\u201d 1 Thessalonians 5:18.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
