Dancing and Javascript

October 21, 2007 by Stephen and Rachel Narwold

Rachel and I went dancing last night! It was pretty fun. We met up at a friends house from our Bible Study first for grillin’. Then we all went from there to a community center where they did what’s called “Contra Dancing.” No, I didn’t know what that meant at first either. Apparently, it’s some kind of folksy-type dance, very akin to square dancing. There’s a caller that tells you what to do at each point, and in most cases, you end up dancing with just about every couple in the group. It was pretty tiring though. Afterward, we all went to Old Chicago’s and instead of socializing with the group we ended up talking with one guy about camp, marriage, parents, ministry and everything in between. It was pretty cool.

So now it’s Sunday Morning and we decided to go to the late service since we were out past midnight last night… but I couldn’t stay asleep. So here I am.

As for the “Javascript” I mentioned in the title, I finally got the menu at the bottom to “hide” when you push the button (actually, you can click anywhere on the red bar). It’s my first attempt at javascript, and took me an entire day, but I think I did pretty well. I even made it use cookies so that when you leave and come back to the site, the menu will be just where you left it. Isn’t that cool? Ok, well at least John will think it’s cool… right John?
