It’s that time again. Time to let you all know what life is like in our world, as well as show you what it looks like. Click on any of the pictures below to see more pictures like them.
Well a lot has happened since our last update. Probably the biggest thing that happened was that we became an Aunt and Uncle as Philip and Jamie had a beautiful baby girl. Her name is Josephine Jewel, and she is the first baby girl on our side of the family. She’s also the first granddaughter on either side of the family. For those of you who aren’t aware, Philip and Jamie’s site is TheGreenWire.com, and I’m sure they’d love to have you over to give your congratulations (at their website, not necessarily their house).
Having a brand new baby in the family has opened my eyes to the magic of it all. It never seemed like that big of a deal before (I was still pretty young when Ben was born), but now it’s all very exciting. I have been able to witness several firsts in a young life. Seeing Philip with his daughter has awoken in me an inexplicable desire to have one of my own. That being said… there are still no immediate plans for a Rachel or Stephen Junior.

We mentioned our new church in our last update, and sadly, it’s already become our old church. The people were fantastic, but we had a hard time getting anything significant out of the messages and Sunday school. This Sunday, we plan on going with my parents, to a very new, very small church. They currently meet in a school, and although there aren’t a lot of “small group” options (the whole church is kind of a small group), we hear that the teaching is excellent, and there are probably a lot of ways to get involved in ministry there. We’re both pretty excited about it.
Now I realize that this may not be very exciting to most (or any) of you, but we rearranged our living room! The new arrangement makes it feel a lot more open, and makes sitting around with a group of friends a lot easier. Also, the addition includes a shoe rack which will supposedly solve all of our shoe-clutter problems (Yeah, right).
Rachel’s job search has slowed down significantly. She’s basically transferred her focus from trying to find a new job, to being content with the one that God has provided her. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but God has already begun to bless her by helping her to be content. Prayer in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Raine is getting older 🙁 . She’s no longer the little kitten we brought home from the humane society. She still seems to get into as much (if not more) trouble though. We’re hoping that along with her age will come a little maturity, where she won’t feel the need to knock things off ledges so often. We’ll see how that goes 🙂 .
And that is our life in a nutshell. We appreciate those of you who have been keeping us in your prayers. It is a blessing to have such a supportive base of family and friends.
Until next time,
-Stephen and Rachel.
Love the pics of Josephine… of course I am biased. 🙂
