Abau

August 20, 2007 by Steve and Donell

Kelly Luyendyk

Steve had the privilege this summer of speaking in the Faith Full Gospel Church where the wedding took place in Idaho.  In his message he talked about some letters that were written by different tribal people in PNG begging for missionaries to be sent to them so that they could hear the Gospel.  Steve has carried a copy of one of these letters in his Bible since our furlough in 2003 when he shared about the need for missionaries.  It was from the Abau people group in the Sepik province.  canoe These same people, in February this year, just finished hearing about God’s word for the first time!  The picture above is Kelly Luyendyk, one of the missionaries to the Abau, and one of their new believers.  There is now a baby church in the Abau tribe.  We are so excited about receiving this news as we feel that we have had a part of it.  Thank you all for partnering with us here in PNG.
