{"id":282,"date":"2019-08-12T08:05:50","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T12:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/?p=282"},"modified":"2019-08-12T08:11:45","modified_gmt":"2019-08-12T12:11:45","slug":"learning-dependence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/2019\/08\/12\/learning-dependence\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning Dependence"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"294\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2019\/08\/headerjuly-600x294.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2019\/08\/headerjuly-600x294.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2019\/08\/headerjuly-300x147.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2019\/08\/headerjuly-768x376.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2019\/08\/headerjuly-125x61.jpg 125w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2019\/08\/headerjuly-250x123.jpg 250w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2019\/08\/headerjuly-450x221.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2019\/08\/headerjuly.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(originally distributed July 15, 2019)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, I\u2019ve wanted to write an update for some time.&nbsp;<br> Things have been rather hectic, and then I got stranded in a location with questionable internet because of a volcanic eruption (who says that?).&nbsp; So, while you all were celebrating with fireworks, I was hoping there wouldn\u2019t be anymore!&nbsp; Now it\u2019s been several weeks, and there are so many things I could write about. &nbsp;I feel like God is teaching me things, and I grasp them for a moment, and then there\u2019s another concept that I\u2019m just barely understanding, but I know that I\u2019m meant to learn.&nbsp; Sometimes I forget to stop and take the time to reflect and let the truth settle in.&nbsp; I wonder if it grieves God when He has to teach us the hard things multiple times, because it\u2019s hard for Him to see us struggle?<br> &nbsp;<br> I could talk to you about how hard it is to live in two worlds and really want to know how people are doing and the details of their lives in both.&nbsp; I could talk about how hard it is to have the people I have friendships with here leave and how it feels like I\u2019m starting over.&nbsp; I could tell you about how being an organized planner is not beneficial here.&nbsp; I could tell you about my disappointments and discouragements or&nbsp;<strong>the beauty of the people I see who rise above their disappointments and discouragements&#8211;major ones&#8211; and how they really put things into perspective for me.<\/strong><br> &nbsp;<br> <strong>But I think what I\u2019d like to tell you about is dependence, and while I definitely haven\u2019t learned it yet, I see the need to.<\/strong><br> &nbsp;<br> Dependence is . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>choosing to trust God when things don\u2019t go my way and according to my plan.
