Maybe the other crazy sicknesses you can get here scared it away!&nbsp; So, I\u2019m grateful for normal.&nbsp; After my two-week quarantine I can shake hands, hug, and be close to people.&nbsp; There are a few places in town, mainly the Australian-run store, where we have to wear masks but on center and in the surrounding community, I can almost forget this mask-wearing season.&nbsp; I hope you all can soon too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m grateful that 68 of my old and new co-workers are planning on heading back in a week and a half.\u00a0 Included in that group are several new church planting families headed this way to begin training.\u00a0 I\u2019m grateful that God\u2019s work here to give the tribal people of PNG the opportunity to hear of His love, grace and mercy for them, in a language and way they can understand, continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I\u2019m grateful I get to be a part of that happening, and that I become more and more clear about what my role is as I serve here.\u00a0 Last week marked 2 years from my first arrival in PNG!\u00a0 It\u2019s not always easy, and I get overwhelmed and weary in my work just as all of you do.\u00a0 But the longer I walk this journey, the more I recognize that nothing will come from my efforts of trying to make things happen.\u00a0 In some situations I can only wait for the Lord.\u00a0 I must be faithful in what I feel He\u2019s asking of me, but that doesn\u2019t mean the doors will be wide open.\u00a0 Sometimes I have to wait.\u00a0 We seek Him, we act, we wait, and we trust that He will do what only He can do in making a way.<br><br>Learning this lesson (not that I have) will, I\u2019m sure, help me as I relate to my tribal church planting co-workers who spend their lives teaching and investing in people, but knowing only God can change hearts.\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t mean we shouldn\u2019t act or that we\u2019re meant to sit still and do nothing, but we can\u2019t force our way if the end goal is love and reconciliation with God.<br><br>I\u2019ve started a Bible Study here written by one of my co-workers based on his family\u2019s experiences planting a church.\u00a0 I\u2019ve only just started it, but it reminds us that in 2 Corinthians 5 we\u2019re meant to be ambassadors reconciling the people of the world to God by sharing with them the message of Christ- that they may be made right with God.\u00a0 How does your life look like the life of an ambassador?\u00a0 You know, I don\u2019t know much about politics, but I\u2019m pretty sure an ambassador acts not out of his or her own power, but the power granted to them by the kingdom they represent.\u00a0<br><br><strong>May we all find the ways in which we can be fruitful and faithful ambassadors wherever we are.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sway.office.com\/8y9ryX5kxoldSIym?ref=Link&amp;loc=play\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"437\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2021\/01\/Click-for-a1-copy-600x437.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2021\/01\/Click-for-a1-copy-600x437.png 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2021\/01\/Click-for-a1-copy-300x218.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2021\/01\/Click-for-a1-copy-768x559.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2021\/01\/Click-for-a1-copy-125x91.png 125w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2021\/01\/Click-for-a1-copy-250x182.png 250w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2021\/01\/Click-for-a1-copy-348x253.png 348w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/summer-zimmer\/files\/2021\/01\/Click-for-a1-copy.png 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I made it.
