I was finally able to buy a one-way ticket for later this month.\u00a0 We all know that even a plane ticket doesn&#8217;t mean things will actually happen, but now at least I have a date and more of a plan.\u00a0 And hopefully the city I&#8217;ll be living in, in Senegal, will have cooled off a bit by then.\u00a0 (I hear that it&#8217;s been nasty there &#8211; hot and humid &#8211; lately.)\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what&#8217;s the plan for after I land?\u00a0 Well, quarantine for a bit.\u00a0 And mainly keep working on the same things I&#8217;ve been working on from the US, including linguistics and my thesis.\u00a0 Oh, and probably things like getting to know people at church if it opens up again.\u00a0 (Last I heard it still wasn&#8217;t open since covid.)\u00a0 And learning some Wolof, one of the main languages of that part of Senegal, so that I can communicate better with those around me than I can using just my French.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll also be getting to know neighbors and other missionaries, figuring out life there, etc.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been there for meetings and trainings several times throughout the years, but it was early 2020 that I moved there for the first time.\u00a0 And after only 7 weeks I was gone.\u00a0 So here&#8217;s take two.\u00a0 Maybe I&#8217;ll last longer this time and not have to head back to the US due to covid restrictions again.\u00a0 And maybe this time I&#8217;ll stay long enough to start to learn my way around this new country?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, I think that&#8217;s all for now.\u00a0 I had better get going on that to-do list before I hop on a plane!<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a ticket!\u00a0 After months of &#8220;maybe I&#8217;ll be returning to Senegal in November,&#8221;
