{"id":1538,"date":"2021-06-08T17:52:09","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T22:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/?p=1538"},"modified":"2021-06-08T17:52:14","modified_gmt":"2021-06-08T22:52:14","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/2021\/06\/08\/home\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-rounded\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"334\" height=\"203\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2021\/06\/Sophie-low-quality-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1539\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2021\/06\/Sophie-low-quality-2.jpg 334w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2021\/06\/Sophie-low-quality-2-300x182.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2021\/06\/Sophie-low-quality-2-125x76.jpg 125w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2021\/06\/Sophie-low-quality-2-250x152.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 334px) 100vw, 334px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How many of you have those friends that you no longer see regularly, but that whenever you see them you can pick up right where you left off?\u00a0 What a special kind of friendship that is, and it\u2019s something I\u2019ve been super blessed with over the last month &#8211; being able to spend time with people who are those kinds of friends.\u00a0 And what is even more miraculous and so like our God is that within the last month I\u2019ve gotten to be with those kinds of friends on two different sides of the ocean!<br><br>Yes, about a month ago I went back to the US for my good friend Heather\u2019s wedding.\u00a0 Having to give the maid of honor speech, I realized that we\u2019ve been friends for 16 years \u2013 boy are we old!\u00a0 But though it\u2019s been a while since we\u2019ve seen each other, we were able to pick right back up as she kept me busy getting ready for her wedding.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude0a\u00a0 Congratulations Peter and Heather!<br><br>While in the US I also got to see other special friends, though it was a super short trip, so sorry if we weren&#8217;t able to get together!\u00a0<br><br>Then recently I jumped the pond again, this time to My Country!\u00a0 Yes, I\u2019m back here for at least a little while, and it\u2019s absolutely lovely.\u00a0 I\u2019m helping with some training in discourse analysis, but I&#8217;m also able to sneak some visits in with my friends here.\u00a0 And while it\u2019s been a long time since we\u2019ve been together, it\u2019s amazing to me how many of them we can just pick right back up where we left off. It&#8217;s so nice to feel so at home.\u00a0 And I get to eat yummy food and drink yummy juice and sweat both day and night.<br><br>I don\u2019t know how people who move around a lot more than I do, and so have a lot of different \u201chome\u201ds, can handle it, since I have a hard time keeping up with the few that I have.\u00a0 But I\u2019m so grateful for the time I had in my US home recently, and the time I have in my My Country home right now.
