{"id":231,"date":"2012-08-16T22:37:08","date_gmt":"2012-08-17T03:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/?p=231"},"modified":"2012-08-16T22:37:08","modified_gmt":"2012-08-17T03:37:08","slug":"cling-wrap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/2012\/08\/16\/cling-wrap\/","title":{"rendered":"Cling Wrap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/08\/IMG_5296.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-232\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/08\/IMG_5296-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/08\/IMG_5296-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/08\/IMG_5296-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>What do <em>you<\/em> do with cling wrap at 9:45 at night?\u00a0 Probably not what I did with it.<\/p>\n<p>Last night I was on-line looking for a harp to take with me to West Africa (since I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ll be able to bring my big one with me).\u00a0 Sadly, a smaller harp means less strings.\u00a0 While I know that I won&#8217;t need all 46 of mine, I&#8217;ve been pondering how many strings is enough.\u00a0 Since\u00a0my mom\u00a0found a fairly cheap one last night (well, as far as harps go), I wanted to see if the 29 strings it\u00a0has would be enough.\u00a0 To try it out, I cling-wrapped the rest of my strings to practice playing with only the 29.\u00a0 It felt a bit like playing with a broken string, since I had to keep thinking about whether or not I could play the notes written.\u00a0 But while I could always use &#8220;just a few more&#8221; (isn&#8217;t that what we always want &#8211; just a little more?), 29 may be the magic number.\u00a0 It&#8217;s\u00a0at least\u00a0a lot better than the 26 on another harp I was looking at.<\/p>\n<p>Can I learn to be happy with 29 strings?\u00a0 Can we learn to be happy with what we have, even if we know that it&#8217;s not the best and it may\u00a0not even be as good as what we used to have?\u00a0 May we learn from Paul, who said, &#8220;I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.\u00a0 I can do everything through him who gives me strength&#8221; (Phil. 4:12-13).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What do you do with cling wrap at 9:45 at night?\u00a0 Probably not what I did with it.
