I\u00a0purchased a <strong>plane ticket<\/strong>!\u00a0 I am planning on leaving for My Country, West Africa, on January 21, or 75 days from now.<\/p>\n<p>2. I am <strong>fully funded<\/strong>!\u00a0 People have given and promised to give enough to meet both my ongoing financial needs and set-up costs.\u00a0 That is totally a God-thing, and it&#8217;s especially noticable as such in today&#8217;s economy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/computer.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-306\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/computer-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/computer-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/computer-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/computer.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a>3. I applied for a <strong>visa<\/strong>.\u00a0 You can pray that it will go through and that I&#8217;ll be approved to live in My Country for the next 5 years (that&#8217;s as long as you can get a visa for at one time).<\/p>\n<p>4. I bought a <strong>computer<\/strong>!\u00a0 Since a lot of what I&#8217;ll be doing is helped by having a computer, I&#8217;m getting a new one that should serve me well for quite a while.\u00a0 That also means that I should be able to have access to the internet and e-mail while I&#8217;m gone, too.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>5. I ordered a new <strong>harp<\/strong> (Thank you, Grandma!).\u00a0 For all of you who have been wondering what I was going to do about a harp, here&#8217;s your answer.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/Smartwood-harp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-302\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/Smartwood-harp-169x300.jpg\" alt=\"Harp\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/Smartwood-harp-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/files\/2012\/11\/Smartwood-harp.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 169px) 100vw, 169px\" \/><\/a>My grandma bought me a new little harp that is able to be disassembled so that it will be easier to take with me.\u00a0 I won&#8217;t be able to play all my music on it since it&#8217;s not a pedal harp and doesn&#8217;t have as many strings, but it&#8217;s so much better than nothing and will be well-loved!!<\/p>\n<p>6. I have a <strong>host church<\/strong> in My Country who is getting ready for my arrival.\u00a0 The church and, in particular, a host family from that church, will help me adjust to life there.\u00a0 I may be able to start e-mailing the pastor in the next week or so!<\/p>\n<p>7. I bought a ticket to go to <strong>Dallas<\/strong> the first week of December.\u00a0 I know, Dallas sounds like a great place to go in December.\u00a0 But I&#8217;m not only hoping to enjoy good weather; the trip will also help me get ready for my time in West Africa.\u00a0 I was asked to go to the library of the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics to learn more about African languages.\u00a0 How fun!\u00a0 (And, as an added bonus, I have friends who live near there that I&#8217;ll get to see.)\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it&#8217;s been a rather crazy few days here.\u00a0 And that not even considering the Missions Celebration at Oakwood Church a few weeks ago, the little vacation my parents and I\u00a0took after that, or the fact that our kitchen is currently being remodeled.\u00a0 Life is crazy, but in it <em>all<\/em> <strong>God is good<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ntmlegacy.org\/\">Learn more about planned giving<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/usa.ntm.org\/giving-questions\">Learn more about giving to a missionary<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let me share with you some of the good news and exciting things that have happened lately in my journey to get to My Country in West Africa, to be a Bible translator. 1.
