{"id":354,"date":"2013-01-17T22:02:58","date_gmt":"2013-01-18T03:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/?p=354"},"modified":"2021-12-06T19:52:51","modified_gmt":"2021-12-07T00:52:51","slug":"im-leaving-on-a-jet-plane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/2013\/01\/17\/im-leaving-on-a-jet-plane\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m leaving on a jet plane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four days until takeoff.\u00a0 Just think &#8211; by Tuesday I&#8217;ll be experiencing the 90s and sunny.\u00a0 And lots of French.\u00a0 And different sights, sounds, and smells, that will likely become &#8220;normal&#8221; after a while.\u00a0 I think that it&#8217;s such a big transition that I can&#8217;t even understand it from this side of the ocean.\u00a0 That&#8217;s probably all the better, since if I knew what these next few weeks and months have in store for me as I adjust to <em>everything<\/em> being new, I might not get on that airplane.\u00a0 So what <em>have<\/em> I been thinking about?\u00a0 The things that I know how to do to prepare and the fact that this is where God is continuing to lead me.\u00a0 Like Abraham, God hasn&#8217;t given me the whole plan.\u00a0 But He&#8217;s given me enough to take the first step.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few of the things I&#8217;ve been up to these last 2 weeks:<br \/>\n~ buying presents for my host family<br \/>\n~ making sure I have all the files and programs I need on my computer<br \/>\n~ spending time with friends and family<br \/>\n~ thinking about packing (the actual putting of things in suitcases isn&#8217;t done yet)<br \/>\n~ getting an international driver&#8217;s license<br \/>\n~ recovering from the flu<br \/>\n~ going to the dentist (it may be a while before I get to go again)<br \/>\n~ and much more<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d appreciate your prayers as I leave on Monday for My Country!<br \/>\nHere are 5 specific ways you can pray:<br \/>\n1. For my preparations before I go &#8211; I still have things I need to get done<br \/>\n2. For my travel and my adjustments &#8211; a lot of my &#8220;unknowns&#8221; will become &#8220;knowns&#8221; very soon, whether I like the answers or not \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\n3. For my host family\u00a0&#8211; they will have to adjust to having <em>me<\/em> living with them!<br \/>\n4. For my parents &#8211; this will be a hard adjustment for them, too<br \/>\n5.
