Welcome to the missionary life.<\/p>\n<p>You know you\u2019re a missionary when . . .<\/p>\n<p>. . . you have three Bibles stacked on your coffee table that you were going through \u2013 in three different languages.<\/p>\n<p>. . . you are in the middle of cutting open an avocado and have to take a break to smash a cockroach on the wall before returning your avocado.  (And since you\u2019re writing about it, you actually do remember to wash the cockroach guts off the wall within a few minutes.)<\/p>\n<p>. . . you are now eating ladit avocado (oh, sorry \u2013 that\u2019s the way it came out in my head.  Dictionary: \u201cLadit\u201d is the French word for \u201cThat one that was mentioned.\u201d) . . . you are now eating that avocado and notice a little bug\/caterpillar in it.  You wash that down the drain, cut off that part of the avocado, and continue eating.<\/p>\n<p>. . . you are lazy and don\u2019t feel like doing dishes before going to bed, so you put them all in your fridge, since it\u2019s bug free and it won\u2019t entice any of those critters to grow big in your house.<\/p>\n<p>. . . you get ready for bed, crawl under your mosquito net, tuck it in, and go to sleep.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few things happened today that don\u2019t seem out of place here, but growing up in Wisconsin I don\u2019t think that I would ever have imagined them happening.
