\"\"<\/a>On Wednesday, as part of the research I was doing with another missionary couple, 4 of us took a major road trip. We were gone for 13 \u00bd hours, of which I was on the back of a moto for at least 6. I don\u2019t understand those people who do cross-country motorcycle trips \u2013 by the end of the day I was exhausted and filthy (see the \u201cSpray-On Tan?\u201d post) and sore. Over every bump that we took a little too fast, just trying to get home, my slightly-too-big helmet would crash against my head, giving me a headache. My stomach was queasy from driving on crazy roads. My muscles were sore from sitting on a motorcycle.<\/p>\n

But then a great thing happened \u2013 we reached the first paved roads we had seen that day about 20 minutes before making it home. Paved roads aren\u2019t always very nice here, but this one felt great \u2013 no crazy bumps and potholes, there were even street lights, and I knew that I would be home soon. Pavement \u2013 an invention I\u2019m not sure that I\u2019ve ever appreciated as much as I did on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
