{"id":982,"date":"2016-08-25T10:46:43","date_gmt":"2016-08-25T15:46:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/?p=982"},"modified":"2021-12-06T17:28:34","modified_gmt":"2021-12-06T22:28:34","slug":"scatterbrained","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/susie-l\/2016\/08\/25\/scatterbrained\/","title":{"rendered":"Scatterbrained"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Do you ever feel scatterbrained?\u00a0 That\u2019s how I\u2019ve felt a lot lately, and I feel like this blog post is rather scatterbrained, too.\u00a0 But hopefully it will help give you an idea of what I\u2019ve been up to lately.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Looking to the future with My People<\/strong><br \/>\nAs I said in a recent post, it&#8217;s hard to know what the future holds, especially here in My Country \u00a0But let me give you an update on our trips to our People Group and where we&#8217;re hoping to go from here.\u00a0 It has been harder to take trips out there lately since it is rainy season.\u00a0 That means that the roads (except for the one paved one) are in worse condition and there are times when some of them aren\u2019t even passable.\u00a0 It also means that people are very busy working in their fields and don\u2019t have as much time to go with us to different villages or to receive a visit from us.<\/p>\n<p>However, we were still able to visit some villages, and there is only a handful left that we have left to visit.\u00a0 After we\u2019ve visited them all, it will be time for major prayer to ask God which one He would have us move into.\u00a0 Leadership will be coming out around the 20<sup>th<\/sup> of September to help us with the next steps, and that may be narrowing down the list into just a few or even picking one.\u00a0 Again, it\u2019s something in the future so I don\u2019t know exactly what\u2019s going happen, but I think that it may possibly be something like that. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42 \u00a0You can help out by starting already (if you haven\u2019t already) to pray that God would make it very clear where He\u2019d like us to move to.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Multiplication in the meantime<\/strong><br \/>\nIn the meantime, while we can\u2019t visit villages as much, I decided to work on multiplying my efforts.\u00a0 You see, I\u2019ve had training in learning languages, but many other missionaries haven\u2019t had as much training as I have.\u00a0 So last week and this week I\u2019m training 3 local missionaries in how to learn a new language.\u00a0 The goal is that this will help them as they also work on reaching out to unreached people here in My Country.\u00a0 It\u2019s fun to see them understand through our teaching time and also through our \u201cpracticum\u201d \u2013 learning English.\u00a0 After only about 10 hours of English study, they can now easily respond to commands like \u201cPut the milk and the tea in the red cup and give it to the 4 cows.\u201d\u00a0 And yes, I admit, I find pleasure in making them do silly things like that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Very Rewarding<\/strong><br \/>\nDo any of you have those moments where it\u2019s still hard to believe that what you\u2019re doing is in real life and not a school project?\u00a0 That you\u2019re actually doing something on par with what the \u201cimportant\u201d people do?\u00a0 I had a moment like that the other day when I went to Joshua Project\u2019s website.\u00a0 Joshua Project is an amazing source for Christians on people groups from around the world.\u00a0 But if you go to Joshua Project\u2019s website now, you\u2019ll find information there that wasn\u2019t there a few months ago, and that\u2019s because <em>I<\/em> sent it to them!\u00a0 It\u2019s information that we learned on our PGA trip in November, and it still feels pretty cool to have it available on the net for others to learn from and be challenged by!\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/ntm.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e78402077fc3111c9276dc0e5&amp;id=5fd8a68600&amp;e=d716dd67f2\">Click here <\/a>to read some of the information and see the picture I sent them.\u00a0 (And, just in case you were curious, in the picture of that lady in white, I was sitting right next to her when the picture was taken, but I cropped myself out to send it to Joshua Project.)\u00a0 (Sorry if this is bragging, but I\u2019m pretty excited about it and thought that you might be, too.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you ever feel scatterbrained?\u00a0 That\u2019s how I\u2019ve felt a lot lately, and I feel like this blog post is rather scatterbrained, too.\u00a0 But hopefully it will help give you an idea of what I\u2019ve been up to lately.
