Within 48 hours of arriving back home in Wisconsin from the wedding, I was out east! I went to share more about what God is doing in Burkina Faso at a church in Virginia and with others out that way, but I also got to see good friends and have fun while I was at it. That’s the way to do a “business trip!”
Here I am sharing at the church. Thanks for the encouragement that you all are to me!
Do you like Heather’s new outfit? Sadly, I wasn’t able to bring Suzanne one this time. But I’m so glad that I’m adopted into the family and get her as my cousin when I’m out there (and the rest of the time, too)!
This young lady, Coumba, is from Senegal, and is working on studying for her GED. I loved getting to talk in French with her and help her study! (And her teacher, Suzanne’s mom, will never know how much of the jabbering we did was studying and how much was just chatting. Ahh, the joys of speaking another language!) 🙂
Saturday found us in Washington DC, where dozens of embassies had open doors. We visited the embassies of Colombia, Mozambique, Botswana, and Ivory Coast. Food, dancing, gifts, displays, etc. Lots of fun! Sadly, the Burkinabé embassy wasn’t open, but I couldn’t resist a picture anyway.
On my way home I got to stop in Boston to spend the day with a good friend Lauren. What a special time together!
