Sing of Song of Celebration

August 28, 2021 by Susie

There are several songs that have been going through my head lately; let me share just a few lines from a few of them:

“What if Your blessings come through raindrops, what if Your healing comes through tears?  What if a thousand sleepless nights is what it takes to know you’re near?” (from “Blessings” by Laura Story)

If I counted correctly, since the day I had planned to return to My Country in 2018 until now, I have been out of My Country for 1003 nights.  I would be lying if I said that they were an easy 1003 days or that I was always patient and trusting. But hopefully I’ve learned whatever God had for me to learn during this time, since I finally have good news to share with you!

“Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper . . . that is who You are.” (from “Way Maker” by Leeland)

Way maker: Yes, after my 999th night out of My Country since my planned return, I was given permission to buy a ticket and return!  As I write this, I’m in the air, on the way back to My Country (though if it’s posted, it means that my feet have touched down).  He has made a way!
Miracle worker: A few weeks ago I started praying that I’d be able to return today, though I knew that it would take a miracle for God to answer that prayer in the affirmative.  And you know what?  He is a miracle worker!
Promise keeper: And in making a way and working a miracle, He has kept a promise – a promise to return to My Country, to allow me to continue to works towards the fulfillment of the promises that I’ve made to My People.  He is a “good, good Father,” isn’t He? (from “Good, Good Father” by Chris Tomlin)

“Your goodness will lead me home.” (from “The Lord is My Shepherd” by Ingrid DuMosch)

And so His goodness leads me home.  Home.  It feels so wonderful.  I know that being home in My Country won’t always be easy, but I’m still rejoicing in His goodness in bringing me back home here!

Thanks for your prayers, encouragement, and everything else on my behalf and the behalf of my leaders to make today possible!  Can you join me in praising Him that my “in-between” time is now over and I now get to join Him on the adventure of the next steps?

Home is such an elusive word. It brings connotations of security and future, but as we know such things are in God’s hands. As you disembark at “home” may your adventures be bathed in God’s blessings. You are treading where few dare to go and may you be richly blessed as you bring God to your people. I miss your enthusiasim and joy.
