Missions Conference

February 14, 2013 by Taylor and Abby Goheen

We had the amazing privilege to be a part of First Baptist Church of Arlington’s missions conference. Our time there was so encouraging and challenging! The main speaker for the conference was Brad Buser. For those of you who do not know, Brad and His wife were missionaries to the Iteri people group in Papua New Guinea for 20 years, working with New Tribes Mission. God’s timing of Brad being there at the same time as us for this conference could not have been more perfect! Hearing Brad’s testimonies of his time with the Iteri people helped us to keep our focus on why we are endeavoring on this task in the first place. Jesus’ last words to his people were to “Go and make disciples. . .” If you knew that you were going to have your last words don’t you think you would say what is of utter importance to you? Well, that is exactly what Jesus did! The thing of greatest importance to him is seeing ALL NATIONS come to know HIM! Being God’s children don’t you think that reaching ALL NATIONS should be our greatest endeavor also?
First Baptist Church of Arlington (FBCA) was the church that I (Abby) were raised in, so for us to be able to share there was so encouraging to me. To be surrounded by the people who had a huge impact on my spiritual growth was a sweet time, one that will comfort my heart whenever I think of all the precious people who make up the body of Christ at FBCA. THANK YOU to all of you who worked so hard to put on the conference, and those of you who attended! We were truly blessed by your service!

Below are a few pictures of our time at the conference.
