Happy New Year,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like many of you, we have looked back to evaluate our efforts in\n2018, and we wonder what the Lord has for us\nin 2019 and beyond. Will the Lord give us\nanother 4 years of full-time missionary service (until I turn 70)? Or will it be\n8 years or even 18 years? Even youths grow tired and weary, \u2026 but those who\nhope in the Lord will renew their strength. My mom (88 years old) wrote out\nthose verses from Isaiah 40:28-31 and gave them to me when I went to Haiti last\nsummer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of Haiti, our local church here in Alabama is\nsending a team back to\nHaiti for 2 weeks in June. They have invited me to lead a 10-day\npastors\u2019 training workshop there, to show their pastors how to teach\nchronologically through the Old Testament to help folks better understand the\nNew Testament. I will be teaching them how\nto use the church development model that we\n\u201cEthnos\u201d missionaries use, and leaving them each with a copy of the 3-volume set of \u201cBuilding on Firm Foundations\u201d in\nFrench. They, of course, would in turn need\nto teach it in the heart language of Haiti: in Creole.\nSo please pray with us about the\ncosts for this trip, including materials to\nleave with these Haitian pastors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are thankful for what He has done in\n2018:<\/strong>
\n– kept my mom healthy and happy in our home;
\n– given us many opportunities to minister within our local church here in\nAlabama;
\n– enabled us to serve our missionaries in West Africa through translation work\ninto French.
\n 
\nWe covet your prayers\nfor us in 2019:<\/strong>
\n– as we continue translating church-development\ntraining material for African missionary\ncandidates;
\n– for God\u2019s provision through God\u2019s people\u2019s\nin supplying funds for this extra trip to Haiti;
\n– for on-going stamina, health and anticipation for all He has prepared for us\nto do for Him.
