{"id":149,"date":"2015-03-11T11:46:50","date_gmt":"2015-03-11T15:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tim-holmgren\/?p=149"},"modified":"2015-03-11T11:46:50","modified_gmt":"2015-03-11T15:46:50","slug":"unexpected-encouragement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tim-holmgren\/2015\/03\/11\/unexpected-encouragement\/","title":{"rendered":"Unexpected Encouragement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tim-holmgren\/files\/2015\/03\/Holmgren-family-Lk-Jessep-walkway-DJB15-2870-5x7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-150\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tim-holmgren\/files\/2015\/03\/Holmgren-family-Lk-Jessep-walkway-DJB15-2870-5x7-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"Holmgren family - Lk Jessep walkway DJB15-2870-5x7\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tim-holmgren\/files\/2015\/03\/Holmgren-family-Lk-Jessep-walkway-DJB15-2870-5x7-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tim-holmgren\/files\/2015\/03\/Holmgren-family-Lk-Jessep-walkway-DJB15-2870-5x7-600x428.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It has been almost 35 years since Tim walked me home from our first date. \u00a0I remember clearly how fast he walked and I remember thinking &#8220;Wow, he must really want to get rid of me!&#8221; \u00a0I have since then learned to keep pace with him and our daily &#8220;fast walk&#8221; in the mornings has often brought comments from other walkers on the walkway on Lake Monroe.<\/p>\n<p>One older lady comments almost daily about how fast we walk. \u00a0It is always fun in the morning to greet her and to hear her cheerful greeting. \u00a0We don&#8217;t know her name and we have never seen her, other than in the half-light of our early morning walks. \u00a0I don&#8217;t even think I would recognizer her if I saw her in another place, because I haven&#8217;t really ever really seen her close up, or in full daylight.<\/p>\n<p>This morning started out like one of those typical mornings. \u00a0She was on the other side of the road from us and we heard her cheerful greeting, &#8220;Good Morning y&#8217;all. \u00a0Still keeping pace, huh?&#8221; \u00a0We called out, &#8220;Yep and Good Morning to you!&#8221; \u00a0However, unlike other mornings, this friend from afar yelled out, &#8220;I pray for you EVERY morning!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I think that really took Tim and I by surprise!
