We got to know a girl named Mae while we were teaching the Bible at her public high school down in Palawan. We helped her financially so that she was able to finish high school, being the first in the family of 6 kids to do so. But she had been complaining for about a year of her stomach hurting her off and on. \u00a0We had thought it was taken care of after taking an antibiotic for a urinary tract infection. \u00a0The Lord has since moved us back to Manila and we are no longer living close to Mae. A missionary friend down there was kind enough to take her to a Dr. for us. \u00a0A ultrasound revealed either a mass, which could possibly be cancerous, or a large kidney stone was the culprit of her pain. \u00a0It was recommended to get a 2nd opinion and a C.T. scan done in Manila. \u00a0Not knowing what to expect or where the money was going to come from, we said to send her up to us. \u00a0So on Thursday, when we heard of this, Mae, who had never flown before or been further than 20 miles from home, was put on a plane bound for us on Friday am. \u00a0We were told that it was more likely a stone and she may need to have it blasted or may need surgery. \u00a0With ultrasounds in hand, showing the stone to be 8mm, we went straight to the Dr. from the airport. \u00a0He agreed that there was a problem and ordered a CT scan saying we could know the results in 24 hours. \u00a0Saturday afternoon I asked Mae how her pain was. \u00a0For 30 plus hours she hadn’t had any pain and without taking any pain pills. \u00a0 I told her, wow, I think the Lord is doing something special in your body. \u00a0We went to the Dr. and he said the stone was gone! \u00a0She either passed the stone with basically no pain, which is virtually unheard of, or the Lord just took it away. \u00a0We know it was all the Lord’s doing. \u00a0This has been a mile stone \ud83d\ude42 in her young Christian life, seeing the Lord work a miracle just for her. \u00a0It is a reminder to her that we have a personal God who knows and cares. \"\"<\/a>\u00a0 The next day in Church as we stood singing “How Great is Our God” \u00a0we looked at each other thinking about all that the Lord had done. \u00a0She threw her arms around me, hugged me so tight and just sobbed and sobbed. We stood\u00a0holding each other\u00a0crying the entire song because we were so blessed at how Great our God is.<\/p>\n

Then after Church is when Mae said, “I don’t want to sleep” because she was heading back down the next day and wanted to see as much of Manila as she could. \u00a0So we took her and Durita to the Ocean Park. \u00a0Durita came to help one of our missionaries down south and we were doing some of her orientation to the Philippines. \u00a0We all had a lot of fun and it was great for us to see Mae enjoy it all so much. \u00a0Durita was able to travel back down with Mae so that she had a companion. \"\"<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\"\"<\/a> \u00a0 Thank you for praying for us and our ministry. \u00a0We never know from one day to the next what ministry the Lord has in store for us, but He does wonderful things like this in response to your prayers and support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
