A woman recovering from the medications we’d given her before removing an area of skin cancer, became quite happy and, as people recovering from surgical medications tend to do, began to shout. But it was what she shouted that just made my year! She would frequently sing out with a joyful, “Mi hamamas! Mi likim sut!” (I’m happy! I like this shot!) LOL!
I was working in my kitchen when I overheard several of the neighbor kids playing in a tree out front. One little girl from Australia kept calling for her friend to come and join her in the tree. When he finally made it over there and started to climb, she began her own running commentary with, “Look at him climb! He’s climbing like a dingo!” Dingo?! LOL! (Although I have been informed by reliable sources that dingoes do climb trees. Still not something you would hear every day!)
Just down the hill, one of the local churches has been playing praise music all day, every day, starting at 6am, for about a week now. Sitting on my couch, reading yesterday, I suddenly overheard the recorded music give way to a sort of sermon or bit of talking over the loud speaker only to move on into a little congregational singing. Then the man got back on the loud speaker and began hollering in a sing-song way, “Left. Right. Left. Right. Left, Left, Left, Left. Left. Right.” And then repeated it at various and random times throughout the day over the loudspeaker while more recorded music sounded in the background. Not sure what spiritual emphasis that was adding but it added random entertainment to my day!
One of my friends was in a national church where the pastor was teaching about heaven. When describing how wonderful heaven will be for those who know Christ, he stated, “Hamamas bai killim yu.” (Joy will kill you!) LOL! Oh what a wonderful perspective!
May God’s joy “kill” you today as you laugh and enjoy the day He has made!
