I realized recently that I’ve been thinking of God’s grace as a measuring cup–I only get so much for today and my prayers for grace during a difficult day are to beg God to add a teaspoon of grace more. But the reality is that I’m in a vast ocean of grace! A never-ending supply of grace shown to me by God and for me to give (comparatively) by cupfuls to others. I crave God’s grace towards me but my prayers are for God to show me grace and not to beg my ration of it. How abundant the God we serve!
And if indeed there is a vast ocean of grace, then there is no limit to what God can do with your life–in you, through you, with you, around you. The possibilities are limitless! What freedom! To step out in obedience to God because full grace is there from the hands of our good God!
In essence, it has nothing to do with you–when God leads, obey. But we can obey without fear because a good God surrounds us with an ocean of grace and come what may, grace and peace abound with my God. “What a mighty God we serve!”
