Welcome to our blog! On this page you can learn a little about our story.
From Todd…
Although I was not raised in a Christian home for the early years, both of my parents were saved shortly before I trusted Christ as my Savior at the age of 12. My family became involved in an Evangelical Free Church with an active youth program and Christian Service Brigade where I was built up in my faith.
After graduating from high school, I attended Moody Bible Institute and graduated with a diploma in Bible/Theology. A few years later, I completed a BA in Bible/Theology at Columbia Bible College. At age 24, I served on a short-term mission team to Senegal, West Africa where I saw the amazing needs and opportunities for getting the gospel to the least reached people groups. I experienced first hand that unless some believer goes to them, they could not hear the truth of God’s Word. Over the next five years, I served on two more ministry teams to Senegal as well as Honduras and Mexico.
During my college years I taught Sunday school and was also involved in open-air evangelism and in leadership of the youth group. After returning from my third trip to Africa with serious health concerns, the Lord provided an awesome opportunity to be an assistant pastor at Leroy Community Chapel for about two years. It was during that time that I was married to Kelley.
From Kelley…
I grew up as a missionary kid in NTM, hearing amazing stories from many missionaries and experiencing the work first hand living in Central America for two years. I attended NTBI in Waukesha and then finished my degree in secondary education at Liberty University. A few weeks after graduation, Todd and I were married, and a year later we entered the NTM missionary training in Durham, Ontario. We then became involved in support ministry with NTM and have been doing this since 1994.
Our Previous ministry…
Our first assignment was candidate coordinator for the NTM short-term program based out of Sanford, FL. During this time we led mission teams to the Philippines and Panama and facilitated numerous ministry teams serving around the globe. We then moved to New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI where Todd was a Bible teacher and dean for four years. After God blessed us with six kids, we felt we had outgrown our ministry there and moved to the Missionary Training Center in Durham where Todd handled the admissions and helped with expansion construction. After three years there, Todd was asked to direct the admissions department for New Tribes Bible Institute, which required a move to Jackson, MI where we have worked since 2004.
Our present ministry…
Todd is currently the director of Admissions for both NTBI campuses and also serves on the Leadership team and is responsible for immigration matters for our international students. Kelley is the main office receptionist where she prints almost all of the class notes for students. She also helps out in Admissions and meets with student ladies one on one or in small groups.
Our Family
God has blessed us with six children, Nathan, Andrew (his wife Tori and our first granddaughter, Alaina), Anna, Noah, and then our twin boys David and Daniel who are still in high school.
