{"id":2,"date":"2010-02-14T04:20:24","date_gmt":"2010-02-14T09:20:24","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-12-13T10:34:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T15:34:16","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/todd-nelson\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019ll use this page to tell you a bit of our story\u2026<\/p>\n<p>After\u00a010 years of marriage,\u00a0we began\u00a0attending Ganson Street Baptist <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1112\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/todd-nelson\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_9205-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9205\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/todd-nelson\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_9205-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/todd-nelson\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_9205-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/todd-nelson\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_9205-600x450.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Church in Jackson, Michigan where we trusted in Jesus as our Savior.\u00a0 We soon became involved in our church&#8217;s ministries.\u00a0 After taking our family on a mission trip to Honduras in 1999 and leading our youth group on a ten-day mission trip to Mexico in 2001, the Lord began opening our eyes to the vast unreached people groups in the world.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Bible School!<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 During this time, friends from church excitedly shared all that they were learning in\u00a0classes at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e360bible.org\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">Ethnos360 Bible Institute\u00a0<\/span><\/a>(EBI).\u00a0\u00a0After checking it out, we began taking \u201ca few\u201d classes in 1999.\u00a0 It did not take long for a &#8220;few&#8221; classes to become a major time investment in God&#8217;s Word.<\/p>\n<p>Ethos360 Bible Institute\u00a0is more than a Bible school; it is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Nhieq7mRvNQ\">first phase of training<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/ethnos360.org\/\">Ethnos360<\/a> (founded in 1942 as New Tribes Mission).\u00a0\u00a0The Lord used our time at the Bible Institute to challenge us to become full-time missionaries.<\/p>\n<p>After graduating in 2003, we remained in Jackson over the next six years.\u00a0 During this time, Sue was employed part-time by the school as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students.\u00a0 Todd taught a few classes on the Parables of Jesus, Christology and Foundations for Learning as an adjunct teacher.\u00a0 Todd quit his secular job in July 2009, and we headed to Missouri to attend <a href=\"https:\/\/ethnos360.org\/training\/ethnos360-training\">Ethnos360 Training<\/a> (ETC) to complete our training as missionaries.<\/p>\n<p>ETC is Ethnos360&#8217;s second phase of training, designed to equip missionary candidates with culture and language acquisition skills needed for church planting in remote tribal locations all over the world.\u00a0\u00a0We graduated from ETC on May 19, 2010.\u00a0 We immediately began raising our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/todd-nelson\/partner\/\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">fi<\/span><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">nancial suppo<\/span><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">rt<\/span><\/a> to serve as trainers at Ethnos360 Bible Institute.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Our field of ministry\u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong> As new missionaries in our early 50s we began serving the Lord in January 2011 at Ethnos360 Bible Institute in Jackson, Michigan!\u00a0 With the consolidation of our two Bible schools in 2020, we moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin to serve at the Bible School there.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Our\u00a0ministry\u00a0responsibilities\u00a0\u2026<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Over the course of 15 years, Todd served as the Bible School&#8217;s Business Director.\u00a0 He has also served on the Leadership Team, the Administration Team, and as a teacher of God&#8217;s Word (his favorite).\u00a0\u00a0Sue served as Todd&#8217;s administrative assistant as well as serving on the Ladies Care and Coordinating Team, Child Protection Team, and in childcare one morning per week.<\/p>\n<p>Special note:\u00a0 Ethnos360 Bible Institute offers an online Bible program, available to anyone in the world.\u00a0 EBI also offers <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.e360bible.org\/\">seven free online mini courses<\/a>.\u00a0 We encourage you to take and enjoy the following free online mini courses (The Grand Narrative of Scripture, Christianity and Contemporary Culture, The Gospel of Mark, The Book of Revelation, The Book of Zechariah, Missions &#8211; The Unfinished Work, and The Book of Psalms).<\/p>\n<p>We have loved serving as missionaries at EBI, training the next generation of church planters that will be sent to the still unreached parts of the world.\u00a0 Over the years we have seen the fruit of our labors with many new missionaries becoming church planters just as the Lord desired (Matt 9:36-38).<\/p>\n<p>As of December 1, 2025, we became retired missionaries with Ethnos360.
