{"id":4369,"date":"2013-08-09T15:16:39","date_gmt":"2013-08-09T22:16:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thatallmayknow.org\/?p=4369"},"modified":"2017-10-11T10:10:43","modified_gmt":"2017-10-11T15:10:43","slug":"an-underwater-adventure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tom-carlton\/2013\/08\/09\/an-underwater-adventure\/","title":{"rendered":"An Underwater Adventure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tom-carlton\/files\/2013\/08\/Spearing-Fish101.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4384\" title=\"Spearing Fish10\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/tom-carlton\/files\/2013\/08\/Spearing-Fish101.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Language &amp; culture study can be a drag sometimes. \u00a0The daily routine isn&#8217;t always exciting and new like it was in the early days when we first began. \u00a0Its a lot of hard work and takes lots of prayer, dependance on the Lord and personal discipline.<\/p>\n<p>On the flip side, the culture aspect of study can be really fun at times. \u00a0On this particular afternoon, I was tired of being in my office and needed to get out for a while. \u00a0A friend was headed out to the reef for some spearfishing and I decided to tag along. \u00a0I&#8217;d been out spearing fish once before with another friend, but it was a bust because of murky water and a malfunctioning camera (needed for culture notes). \u00a0This would be my second attempt out to participate in this routine culture event that takes place in the lives of all the young men in our village.<\/p>\n<p>I grabbed my camera and snorkel, hopped in my canoe and made my way out to the reef. Here some pics from our underwater adventure!
