On the way back from Chiapas recently, the group of us traveling to Chihuahua had an eight-hour layover in Mexico City. Yes\u2026 that\u2019s right. Eight. Hours. But you know what? I love Mexico City and actually enjoy any time I get to hang out there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love it for the history, the culture and just the general atmosphere. Don\u2019t get me wrong: the traffic is a nightmare. And there is a ton of smog. It\u2019s one of the world\u2019s largest cities, and you definitely feel it being there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More importantly, though, I also love Mexico City because it is the home of one of our Bible Institutes. As a field we have a national training program comprised of two Bible Institutes, one in Mexico City and one in Chihuahua, as well as a cross cultural training program in Chihuahua, at the Ranch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might remember that before Beth and I were asked to stay in Chihuahua, we were headed down to join the two families working down there. We had made several visits and were encouraged every time by what the Lord was doing through this ministry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this layover we had the chance to spend time with Oscar and Ken, the two men on the team working at the Bible Institute. It was just as encouraging as ever to hear how they were doing and to hear about the students the Lord has brought to the institute. Praise God for these believers with a desire to know Him more! And praise God for these staff families! I really look up to Ken and Oscar a lot, as they are examples of humble devotion to the Lord and to the ministry of discipling believers in the Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bible Institute still has the need of facilities, as the team is limited in how many students it can admit, since the classes take place in Oscar\u2019s home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will you pray for the Bible Institute in Mexico City? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pray that the Lord would continue to give energy and provide for the families serving on this team. Pray that the Lord would continue to bring students desiring to study the Word with an emphasis on worldwide missions. Pray for the need of a building, that the Lord would provide the funds needed so that the school can grow. Pray for more staff, as well, because running a Bible Institute with two families is very difficult as they carry the entire weight of the teaching load. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
