I read a book recently asking the reader where home was. Would home always be a certain place? Do you feel at home where you are currently at?
I was explaining to the kids that we were hoping to visit our friends and coworkers Chris and Rachel Thomas in Mississippi on our way back to the Guest House. The conversation turned into defining where someone is from (Chris is from Mississippi) and where someone lives (Chris and Rachel live in a village in Mexico as missionaries).
I think home can be right where God has you. While Michigan will always be where I am from and Idaho is where Torre is from (no we won’t budge on that), God has us at the Guest House in El Paso. I can honestly say that I feel at home there. God has cultivated in me a desire to minister to His people and the Guest House is where He has me.
So until He calls me to my ultimate home with Him in glory, I look forward to going back “home” in a couple of short weeks.
