We know how to bake

November 17, 2016 by Torre and Narah Meissner

We love food.  We are thankful to live in a land where we are able to make just about anything our hearts desire.

Our favorite things to make are baked goods.  Part of our goal this year is to have a schedule that is more open for having folks over for dessert, or dinner.  I used to avoid having folks over because the idea of cooking dinner for more than six people overwhelmed me.  So I would just avoid inviting anyone over.  A year or so ago it struck me that if I waited until I was “comfortable” having folks over, I’d never do it.  I also realized that I didn’t have to cook dinner for each family at the guest house.  In the end is it really about the food (well, yes sometimes it is) or is it about connecting with folks and trying to be a blessing to them?  So we do dessert!

It’s easy to get together last minute and folks can come over after a day of shopping or running errands in the city.

It’s also fun to bake things to take over to the Guest House for our guests.  The kids have gotten into helping in this area and it’s fun for them to minister with us.
