AUGUST 2008
Dear Friends,
1 John 5:14-15
Greetings from the Recaldes here in Paraguay. Once again it is time to “catch you up” on what is happening and what we have been doing in the last couple of months.
First of all, we want to thank you very much for being our co-workers and Prayer-partners! Thank you for your sacrificial giving and Prayers so that we can be here! We praise God for the daily strength that he gives to us and for His faithfulness! We are so thankful that we have had such a mild Winter so far this year!
Please continue to Pray for the Church out at the Indian Colony. Satan is constantly at work and many of the tribal People continue to struggle with alcoholism. Pray that God would give us wisdom and insight in knowing how to help them. Please Pray for the Believers, that they will grow in The Lord and for the Salvation of those who have not understood yet. Please Pray also for us to continue to have safety on the road as we are constantly traveling to and from the Indian Colony and also that our truck will continue to run well as the road conditions are rough on our vehicle.
Pray for Samuel as he continues to train and equip faithful Tribal men for leadership in the Church. Please Pray also for him as he teaches Bible and literacy classes during the week.
Please Pray for Tracy, as she teaches a Sunday school class to the Tribal children. We have so many children who come to church on Sundays that we decided Sunday school would be a good idea and the children just LOVE it! The preparation is time-consuming for Tracy, as she must translate each lesson from English into Guarani before she can teach it. Pray for Tracy and Mamila too, as they continue to teach the Tribal ladies Bible class each Saturday. Please Pray for Tracy concerning the frequent headaches that she has been experiencing for the last few years which seem to be getting worse.
Please remember our own kids in your Prayers also, that they would continually seek God\’s will and have wisdom in decisions they make in their lives! Our two oldest daughters who live in the U.S.A. Rachael is a nurse in Chicago and Earl (our son-in-law)and Samantha and little Alex recently moved to Davenport, Iowa. Our children who are still at home are Stefany, who graduated from high school last year, Kristina in the 9th grade and Nathan in the 5th grade. Stefany is working at a large store that sells computer supplies and saving to start college next year.
Please Pray for us to have wisdom in prioritizing our time in our daily responsibilities as we seek to be a light for Christ to the Pai Tavyterã Tribal People.
In Christ\’s Service, Samuel, Tracy and Family
