{"id":315,"date":"2024-06-13T21:12:07","date_gmt":"2024-06-14T05:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/travis-lesicka\/?p=315"},"modified":"2024-06-13T21:13:19","modified_gmt":"2024-06-14T05:13:19","slug":"no-additives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/travis-lesicka\/2024\/06\/no-additives\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;No Additives&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s how Becky\u2019s language helper describes salvation.\u00a0 We trust that Jesus\u2019s death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins and \u201cno additives.\u201d\u00a0 It\u2019s not we trust Jesus. . . and we do a certain amount of good deeds or only worship on a certain day of the week or quit smoking (or in PNG quit chewing beetle nut).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ephesians 2:8-9<strong> \u201cGod saved you by his grace when you believed.\u00a0 And you can\u2019t take credit for this; and Becky<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Daily Life Here<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are still in the midst of language study.\u00a0 In early May we had our second evaluations and moved up to \u2018Progressing Low\u2019 (Travis) and \u2018Progressing Mid\u2019 (Becky).\u00a0 Our next evaluation will either be in July or August, depending on when a language consultant is available.\u00a0 A couple of the consultants are on home assignment and a few others are busy with church planting works in different tribal locations.\u00a0 In the meantime we\u2019re continuing to study and meet with our language helpers.\u00a0 We\u2019ve also had opportunities to help out with different things here at the support center.\u00a0 We are helping set up two apartments for new families arriving in July\/August, Travis has helped out with audio visual work for the school and some small repairs on machinery around campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In July we will fly to the capitol city of Port Moresby (there&#8217;s no road from here to there, so flying is the only way) and Travis will take the written flight exam for his PNG pilot\u2019s license. &nbsp; Last month it also helped build relationships with the local police and fire department in a South American country where Ethnos360 works.&nbsp; They\u2019ve been graciously loaning us space in their hangar for our helicopter and were impressed with how easy it was to refuel the helicopter in remote locations with the electric barrel pump.&nbsp;
