Thank you for praying for our family. We have managed to keep quite busy as is our tradition. We have settled in well to our “new” home here in Kansas. We are very thankful for being allowed to use this beautiful home. A piano was left here at the house so our girls have been able to keep up with practicing (even though we don’t have a teacher for them yet). We have enjoyed listening to them minister in music at church not only on the piano but all have played their instruments as well.
Our kids have settled in to school well and have made several friends. Juliana played volleyball and Paul is on the soccer team. His team is in the top 4 teams of the state so they are excited. It has been fun for us going to the games and meeting new families as well. Basketball starts in a few weeks for Juliana and Ashley. Walter was asked to help coach girls’ basketball at Ashley’s school so that should be fun. They have been gracious to allow us the freedom to travel if needed during that time.
We have had a few trips since school has started and spoke at 1 church in August, 1 in September, 3 churches in October and November is full, 4 of the 5 Sundays. My parents have been good to keep the kids during our trips so that they don’t have to miss school. They have enjoyed that, though we wish we could take them more. Juliana and Abby were able to go with us on our trip to North Dakota.
Ben settled in well to his college in Wisconsin and is enjoying himself. He was able to get a job working security so he gets the late shifts a few nights a week. He also made the basketball team so he had to cut back on his hours. Please pray for him as he juggles his schedule and keeps up with his studies. He is also adjusting to the temperature change, but he is surviving, especially with his three roommates being from either Hawaii or Guam. He is in good company!! They are all part Filipino and love rice as much as he does.
Please continue to pray for us as we schedule meetings and our financial situation. We need a $2000/month increase as well as money for our plane tickets and visas for returning in July 2009 and money for a vehicle in the Philippines. Please contact us if we could share at your church.
In Christ,
Cheryl for the Spicer’s
