Walter was not able to have his eye surgery on Tuesday, but the doctor was able to squeeze him in on Wednesday morning. Walter spent the night in the hospital to rest his eye and be prepared for surgery. He went into surgery at 8 am Wednesday morning and left surgery/recovery room at 12 noon. I wasn’t able to talk to the doctor that performed the surgery, but I am guessing all went well. The intern came to check Walter’s eye and informed us that Walter will spend another night in the hospital. He is a little lightheaded still but can walk around and was able to eat a regular meal. He is experiencing a little pain, but more tired, especially with sitting up, which he will have to do for the next 2-3 weeks, including sleeping that way.
In discussing the expenses with the doctor, we found out that the original estimate of the cost of surgery was quite a bit lower than the actual cost. Please pray that God will supply the finances for this surgery.
We are thanking God for how he has orchestrated everything for us. Walter has been able to see the specialists he needed to see without getting an appointment, getting an earlier surgery date, our co-workers both at Faith Academy and NTM helping us out and, of course, all your prayers for us. Your prayers are encouraging to us. Please continue to pray for complete healing.
In Christ,
Cheryl for the Spicers
