{"id":197,"date":"2009-10-05T15:41:54","date_gmt":"2009-10-05T07:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/?p=197"},"modified":"2010-02-25T12:54:18","modified_gmt":"2010-02-25T04:54:18","slug":"a4j","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/2009\/10\/05\/a4j\/","title":{"rendered":"A4J"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_221\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-221\" style=\"width: 180px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-221\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/2009\/10\/05\/a4j\/dscf3450\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-221 \" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2009\/10\/DSCF3450-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Ashley and some girls in A4J\" width=\"180\" height=\"135\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2009\/10\/DSCF3450-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2009\/10\/DSCF3450-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-221\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ashley and some girls in A4J<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We mentioned in our last email that we are praying for a ministry for our family.\u00a0 Walter still teaches and coaches at Faith Academy, but we wanted to do something as a family with Filipinos.\u00a0 Since then, we have joined the A4J (All for Jesus) staff.\u00a0 The ministry runs from September to December on Sunday mornings.\u00a0 For those of you who saw our power point presentation, it was one of the ministries that students get involved with at Faith Academy.\u00a0 Ashley and I will be working with the Junior girls (ages 10-12).\u00a0 Juliana is working with the Primary girls (ages 7-9).\u00a0 Paul is working with the Junior boys and Walter is working with the Primary boys.\u00a0 Next Sunday, we will have registration for 400 children living close to Faith Academy, dividing them into their groups and getting to know them.\u00a0 The following Sundays, they will be participating in games, learning Bible verses, hearing a story in their language and working on activity sheets.\u00a0 Students from a nearby seminary will be giving the lessons to each group.\u00a0 We are excited to begin this ministry.\u00a0 Each child will receive a t-shirt.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This means our Sundays will be very busy.\u00a0 \u00a0A4J starts at 7:00 am, then we drive to our church at 9:30 am, and lastly at 3:00 pm Walter and I lead a Bible study (called the Truth Project) with some school staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We were also challenged by the leaders of A4J to come up with at least 2 sponsors for a child attending A4J.\u00a0 Right now, funds are low.\u00a0 The cost per child for the year is P300 (which in dollars is about $6.40).\u00a0 This pays for a t-shirt, snacks, photocopying of the material, and a Christmas gift at the end of the year.\u00a0 Would you consider sponsoring a child? \u00a0If you would like to give, you can do that through our account at our NTM office, designating it to the Spicers for A4J.\u00a0 Please let us know so we can keep track of who gave, plus to make sure that we receive that amount.<\/p>\n<p>Please pray for us as we begin this ministry, that we would be a blessing to the kids and encourage them.\u00a0 Pray that they would understand God\u2019s Word and would have a personal relationship with Him and for the families of these children.\u00a0 Also, pray for our Bible study that we would grow in our knowledge of God and that it would impact our lives and our relationship with God and all who attend.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0In Christ,<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl for the Spicers<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We mentioned in our last email that we are praying for a ministry for our family.
