{"id":321,"date":"2012-10-28T18:47:53","date_gmt":"2012-10-28T10:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/?p=321"},"modified":"2012-10-28T18:47:53","modified_gmt":"2012-10-28T10:47:53","slug":"endings-and-beginnings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/2012\/10\/28\/endings-and-beginnings\/","title":{"rendered":"Endings and Beginnings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>June 2012<\/p>\n<p>As usual, the end of the school year was busy with concerts, banquets and exams.\u00a0 Abby was excited to go to her first banquet with the middle school and was on the senate that was in charge of planning it.\u00a0\u00a0 Juliana and Ashley attended the junior-senior banquet and Walter and I went along as chaperones.\u00a0 It was very nice and fun to see the students looking so beautiful and handsome.\u00a0 We also had our staff banquet and honored many staff members who reached a milestone in their service at Faith Academy.\u00a0 We also said good-bye to many others who are leaving either for a short time or some with no plans to return.\u00a0 That was hard.<\/p>\n<p>The last week of school was full of activities for the seniors graduating.\u00a0 They had their senior trip at a beach resort and then a baccalaureate service and commencement.\u00a0 It was exciting to see these students pass a milestone in their lives and congratulate them as they move on in their lives.\u00a0 It was also sad to say good-bye to them and others.\u00a0 Ashley received a scholarship that night as well.\u00a0 Please pray for these seniors as they head off to colleges and jobs and all the adjustments they will have away from their families and friends and all that is familiar to them.<\/p>\n<p>We were able to go to the US to celebrate the wedding of our son, Ben to his wife Jessica.\u00a0 We are excited to welcome her into the family and witness the beginning of their marriage together.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2012\/10\/wedding.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-323\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2012\/10\/wedding-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2012\/10\/wedding-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2012\/10\/wedding.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We are also praising God the provision of jobs for our children.\u00a0 Ben and Jessica both have jobs in Missouri.\u00a0 Ben is working at a restaurant and Jessica is working at a hospital.\u00a0 We are excited that she passed her board exam to be a registered nurse.\u00a0 Paul and Ashley are working at the same factory in Wichita so that is nice.\u00a0 Juliana was also able to get a part time job at a nursing home here in town until she went back to the Philippines.\u00a0 Abby has been helping her grandparents out and getting some money as well.\u00a0 They also had fun helping our church with their VBS program<\/p>\n<p>Pray for Walter as he works on the schedule for the middle school.\u00a0 We are also thankful for the opportunities we had to share in a couple of churches during our short time in the US.
