School Mayhem and Surfing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First quarter of school was packed with activities and events.\u00a0 Walter attended the staff retreat before school started and the girls had fun with their friends and making new ones.\u00a0 Juliana also attended the high school retreat in mid August.\u00a0 I returned to the Philippines at the end of August after getting Ashley settled into college.<\/p>\n<p>As middle school counselor, Walter helps organize many activities as well as scheduling classes and testing.\u00a0 He helped organized the Barkada Bash, a time for the different groups in middle school to get to know each other and have fun.\u00a0 It was filled with many fun activities and games.\u00a0 Friendship Week was a week where the kids and staff could dress up in the different themes and also have some friendship building games.\u00a0 Walter also enjoys working with his Discovery student.<\/p>\n<p>When I returned to the Philippines, the senior class was in the middle of preparing for their senior play.<!--more-->\u00a0 Juliana was involved as one of the officers.\u00a0 I was busy helping organize students to work on the set construction and printing of the tickets and programs as well as overseeing the student workers on the nights of the play.\u00a0 They performed a wonderful comedy called \u201cArsenic and Old Lace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-332\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2012\/10\/Juliana-surfing-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2012\/10\/Juliana-surfing-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/walter-spicer\/files\/2012\/10\/Juliana-surfing.jpg 698w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Because Juliana had some projects to work on over break, we decided to stay home and relax and enjoy some family time.\u00a0 Walter took Juliana for a one-day trip with some of her friends to go surfing.\u00a0 It was a highlight for them, even if they couldn\u2019t stand up very long.<\/p>\n<p>With the beginning of second quarter, volleyball season is ending and basketball will begin soon.\u00a0 This was a rebuilding year for Juliana\u2019s volleyball team.\u00a0 We hosted a volleyball tournament last weekend and Juliana was selected for the all-tournament team.\u00a0 They are getting ready to go to the Far East tournament.\u00a0 She is looking forward to the trip.\u00a0 Walter will begin basketball tryouts and then the season begins.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your prayers for our family and ministry,<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl for
