We are so thankful for our time here. We see that it is God’s timing that we were able to be in the US this summer for a few weeks.

We were greeted by some of our family and our grandson, Lucas. It has been fun holding him and watching him grow and develop. He has been blessing us with his smiles and cuddles and beginning to roll over onto his back.

We were also able to see my brother, Brian and his family who live in Papua New Guinea and are back in the US for a one-year home assignment. It has also been good to be here and encourage family members who are going through hard times.

A few days after we arrived, Walter’s brother, Mark came for a surprise visit. We were glad we could see him, as he and his family are missionaries in Africa, so we don’t get to see them often. It was also good as they were able to talk about settling their parent’s finances and at least get the ideas started.

While we were here, Walter’s sister, Cathy, and father were in a car accident. Walter’s dad had to have surgery on his back to insert 2 rods to stabilize his back, and his sister has a cracked sternum. We have been able to be with them and help Cathy out at home with her lifting restrictions and drive people back and forth to the hospital. Walter’s dad is now in a rehab center. We are hoping that he will progress enough that he can come home soon, but probably after we leave. We were also able to celebrate his 86th birthday with all his children present.

With all the unanticipated changes in our schedule, Walter hasn’t been able to work on schoolwork as much has he wanted. Please pray that Walter will learn the new software and get the scheduling done on time before school starts. Also pray for stamina for Walter. We wouldn’t have traded this time for anything. We were able to take a camping trip with most of our children and visit with them some as well.

Continue to pray for healing for Walter’s dad and sister and his mom who also has pneumonia.

Thanks for praying for us. We fly back to the Philippines mid July.

In Christ,

Walter & Cheryl

Our time in the US is going by quickly.
