Jesus Died in My Place

November 12, 2012 by Wayne and Patsy Gibson

Sitting under the shade trees, Wayne taught the Piapocos the lesson about Nicodemus´ nighttime visit to Jesus. Afterwards he gave the folks some time to think about the significance of being born again and to express what they believed.

One Piapoco man shared that years ago he was baptized, but he didn´t understand what it meant. He tried reading the Bible, but it was confusing, and asked God to send someone to help him understand.

Last May when he discovered that Wayne was teaching God´s Word in his own language, he began to regularly attend the sessions. After hearing the Old Testament teaching up to the New Testament and John 3,  it began making sense to him. It was evident to Wayne also, in his responses and expressions that this  man was drinking in God´s message.

Last week this same Piapoco gave a clear testimony of placing his faith in Christ alone, because of Jesus dying in his place on the cross for his sins, `Jesús yéetácatéwa núichawalíiná, núalimíiseca nubáyawaná ìwalíise.´

Praise the Lord with us for this new brother in Christ. Two others expressed faith in the Lord Jesus, also. Thank you for praying.
