Respectfully, they call him Awichi, Grampa. `Where are you going, Awichi?\u00b4 they would call out, `Are you going to teach God\u00b4s Word?\u00b4 Wayne would affirm their questions and where he was going, even though they already knew the answers. Little ones, like Paulita, are no longer afraid of the white man. She often stands by his side, listens to what he says, and happily <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Lucila-and-Baby-Paula2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-97\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Lucila-and-Baby-Paula2-276x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"215\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Lucila-and-Baby-Paula2-276x300.jpg 276w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Lucila-and-Baby-Paula2.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 215px) 100vw, 215px\" \/><\/a>toddles around him. She won his heart with her big brown eyes. When she became quite ill last week, we were able to get some medicines to help. Many had prayed for her and thankfully she is doing much better now. We anticipate the time when Paulita\u00b4s parents will place their faith in Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Along with teaching two groups of Piapocos the Phase I evangelism lessons, Wayne teaches the translation team, Reinaldo, Walter and Silvio, the book of Acts. Other men in a nearby <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Bible-study-at-Raul\u00b4s-home1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-98\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Bible-study-at-Raul\u00b4s-home1-300x208.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Bible-study-at-Raul\u00b4s-home1-300x208.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Bible-study-at-Raul\u00b4s-home1.jpg 724w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a>area asked him to teach them also, so they are now learning some basic principles of the Bible.<\/p>\n<p>While our daughter, Susan, and children were visiting, they helped to begin the weekly Children\u00b4s Program. About 60 Piapoco kids attend most weeks.<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Leaving-PI.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-99\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Leaving-PI-300x178.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Leaving-PI-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Leaving-PI.jpg 520w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 263px) 100vw, 263px\" \/><\/a> Reinaldo\u00b4s wife, Susana, is the main Bible teacher, with other ladies and me helping.<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Susana-teaching-girls-group1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-100\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Susana-teaching-girls-group1-300x211.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"247\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Susana-teaching-girls-group1-300x211.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Susana-teaching-girls-group1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 247px) 100vw, 247px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then some Christian ladies encouraged me to begin a Bible study with them. Surprisingly, it has gone very well. We meet in each other\u00b4s homes once a week, studying our identity in <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Ladies-Bible-Study1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-101\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Ladies-Bible-Study1-300x160.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Ladies-Bible-Study1-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/wayne-gibson\/files\/2012\/09\/Ladies-Bible-Study1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 292px) 100vw, 292px\" \/><\/a>Christ.<\/p>\n<p>How thankful we are that the Lord has allowed us to move out to the tribal area, after many years of long distance discipleship, and for the many opportunities of ministry before us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The little Piapoco kids are now quite used to seeing the white-haired man walk by their homes certain days each week.
