Almost ten years of marriage and three kids have really expanded the number of “things” in our house — from toys to small appliances, and clothes to furniture! Everything needs to be looked at with a critical eye — is it worth packing up and taking with us, or can it be replaced in the future (and can we get something like it in Papua New Guinea?).

Last picture of Liam with “Daddy’s gray car” before we sold it.

We’re trying to find the balance of making sure we and our kids (especially the kids!) will be able to settle in and feel at home in PNG without taking every toy, blanket, and stuffed animal they own to the other side of the world. It’s more emotional than expected, and prayers are appreciated that the kids are open and enthusiastic during this time of change.

Last weekend we sold one of our two cars, the Saab, as part of this downsizing process. In a few months, it will be time to sell our house too!
