Coincidentally, in the United States most college students are frantically preparing for final exams. Well, after four years since we moved into the tribe we are preparing for our “final exams.”
Aaron Weatherl is traveling out to the tribe to do an extensive evaluation on Aaron, Lori, and Butch. Aaron and Butch are taking their 4th evaluation, which will involve several days of written and oral testing in the village and in the office. They are hoping to get the green light to be able to start preparing lessons for literacy and Bible teaching. Lori will be taking her 3rd evaluation and is doing an amazing job keeping up with her language and culture study among all her other duties. It has been a long and tough road to be able to communicate well in a tribal language, but we believe that it will be worth it when the Word of God comes alive to them.
The testing begins this weekend and will last through most of the week. Please pray for us as we tackle this evaluation. Pray for clarity of thought. Pray for the Patpatar folks that will be helping with all the tests. Pray for a good assessment of our abilities in the language and culture, and pray for our families.
Thank you for lifting us up in prayer this week. We are excited for this opportunity and look forward to reporting back to you about the results.
Psalm 65:5 “You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness, O God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.”
Because of His “awesome deeds,”
