Over Christmas we had the privilege of having Madonna Yates come to the tribe and visit our family and the Kunzers. She is a New Tribes missionary from Australia and has been looking to the Lord to see where she may serve Him in Papua New Guinea. After she returned to the mission center we and the Kunzers prayed and discussed the possibility of her joining our team. Here is part of the email that Butch and Tammy wrote:
"Hey Madonna!
We just got together with the Luses last night for the first time since you left. On behalf of the Patpatar team, we want to officially invite you to join our work! We are excited to have you and think that you will be a great asset to our team."
It didn’t take long for us to get a reply. We were excited when we got this email from Madonna:
"Dear Butch, Tammy, Aaron and Lori
Yes – I would love to join you there! I only just got your email an hour or so ago – and I must admit I was trying not to get my hopes up too much – so when your email came I knew my prayer had been answered! I knew before I left the tribe that if I were to be invited, my answer would have been ‘yes’."
She is looking to join our team and move out here in the next few months. We are excited about her joining the work to help fill some of the gaps of the large task that lies before us. You can join with us in prayer for her as she moves out here and begins the process of learning the language and culture of the Patpatar people.
