This last year we have been busy getting our new house livable and workable, without dropping our language sessions. In June, as soon as the doors and windows were hung, we moved into the construction site. Improvements have been made since then and we have a quite workable house by now.
The house is quite bigger than we need it to be, but that allows us to host visitors like you, if you dare to come. 🙂
Here is a picture of what I am talking about, workable, but not finished
Other than that, not much has changed here in the Liberian bush. We still have occasional uninvited guests like a snake or a tarantula and other critters, like horse flies and mosquitoes. But we soon will be finished screening in the whole house, taking care of that problem at least, and hopefully we will get malaria less often this year then too.
We also still continue to make progress in learning the Glarro language. It remains challenging, making out the minimal tone and sound differences. Tone can make the difference between past and present, but sometimes it can change the whole meaning too. Like if you want to say, “She sent him,” but you are not quite right on the tone, you might just say “she killed him.”
