So we are starting to settle in and make some new friends. We’ve found that we are pretty interesting to the kids in our neighborhood. Some of them want to talk to us because we are different, some want to talk to us because they can practice the little English they know, some want to be with us because we have fun toys (like a Wii), some have a bad home life, & some just like playing with our kids.
During this last week we have made four new friends that we feel has potential. Douglas, August (This is not the month. His name is said differently, just spelled the same in English.) & one other boy like to come play the Wii with Joel, Ethan & Josiah. Taish (pictured above with Summer) is a little girl who lives just a couple houses down the road from us. All seem to be VERY respectful & well-behaved. We are praying that we can build relationships with these children & possibly their families as well. It’s our desire that as we live here among their culture, that we can impact them for Christ.
Please pray:
-
Pray with us that we will have wisdom in how best to interact with these children & their families.
-
Pray that our Portuguese will continue to improve.
-
Pray that we will remain healthy & safe here in Manaus.
-
Pray that the hearts of people will be open & ready to know of our Savior’s love.
