October 4, 2010 by Angela Ketcham Joel ordered a boat for us to use for ministry (& a little fun) when we are out at PQQ. That was the EASY part! Getting the boat into the river was the HARD part (although TOTALLY worth it! & even a little fun…we had LOTS of laughs!) Joel & his Dad (Phil) Unloading the boat Trying to get the boat to the water. This was NOT an easy task. The men send our WONDERFUL taxi driver (& friend) out of the mud. They FINALLY reach enough water for Joel to turn back.Phil & Ken Williams (a man helping out here in Brazil for a few months) paddle the boat down river to the other boat waiting for us. Joel came back to help us (his family) carry our bags to the other boat...we were on our way to PQQ for the weekend. Yep! That's how deep the mud got. Pulling the boat out to PQQ (& our motor). First family pic in the new boat. Taking it for a test drive. Fitting name for the boat makers.
