What is ‘the Launch’ you ask? It is the large boat just behind Joel. It belongs to the school & is the way in which we buy our supplies for the month, get the students to and from town in order to travel, and occasionally it’s the transportation for a little fun (like going on camping trips) too.
However, lately we have been without the use of this nice, large boat. A few months back the Launch was on it’s way home from a shopping trip in town when it got stopped. As it turned out, the paperwork was never done properly & it is now illegal for us to use it in town. So the mission is now in the process of trying to get it all legal. This doesn’t sound like it would be a big deal, but let me tell you- it is VERY BIG DEAL. The paperwork process is slow, hard, and there are soooooo many hoops to go though.
Please pray with us that this will be resolved soon. Not being able to use the Launch has been a big problem for the school & the families living here. Not only is it just a hassle to work around (think about needing to buy supplies for 40 kids…shampoo, soap, food, toilet paper, etc.), but it’s a financial burden as well (it’s much cheaper for us to all use the Launch for a day trip to town & split the cost, rather than just a few people going to town in smaller boats). And please pray that we’ll all have the stamina to do what we need to do until we get the use of the Launch again.
