I have been on the road a lot this February! With the 6-and-a-half-hour road trip to and from the missions trip I got to be a part of, and the 8 hour road trip moving up to Wisconsin, I have had plenty of time in the car.
Missions Trip
I had a wonderful and extremely encouraging time on the missions trip to Roach Missouri!! I got to go to the Ethnos360 Training Center with a group of 21 people from my home church (Holly Springs Bible Fellowship) and five other people from other churches. At the center, the team worked on renovating the Ethnos360 MK Care building as well as many other projects that were very much needed. Being a part of the trip was incredible because of the fellowship and hard work of the team.
I got to be a part of the “painting ladies” crew. I got to sand, tear up carpet, paint trim and doors, and have a brief snowball fight with some of the missionary kids living at the center.
Moving
I moved last week from Iowa to Wisconsin. This has been quite the transition for me as I was just starting to feel deep connections in Iowa. I made this move for two reasons:
1) I am sitting around 50% of my monthly support and I need to be able to reach 75% in order to go into full-time ministry. There is an opportunity for me to connect with churches and individuals, build relationships, and gain support (whether in prayer and/or finances).
2) I have been in a long-distance dating relationship for nearly a year and a half now. Moving to Wisconsin allows me to date in person with Gabriel and figure out the next steps in our relationship.
For those of you wondering, my relationship with Gabriel does not change my plans to pursue Ethnos360 MK Care. He is pursuing ministry in missions and has strongly encouraged me in my ministry with Ethnos360 MK Care. If you have any questions or concerns I would love to answer them and talk with you. Email me here.
Looking forward…
I am looking forward to building new relationships, keeping in touch with those in Iowa, establishing a new routine and rhythm, and figuring out the Lord’s leading in my life. I am also excited to be able to do some in-person dating. There are a lot of moving pieces in my life right now, so I am eager for the Lord to show me next steps as I continue to pursue Him.
“Human sacrifice was banned in the country that I grew up in. That didn’t mean it didn’t happen. Whenever there was a drought or some other natural disaster occurring, or if there were great difficulties and trials inflicting the village, the tradition had been human sacrifice to appease the spirits. That had been outlawed by the government. However, if there were hardships that were happening, it was not uncommon for an older person from the village to simply disappear and to have “died” from being sick even if they had been perfectly healthy.”

I am currently at 48% of my monthly support!
I am so thankful for those who have partnered with me financially and I am overwhelmed by the amount of people who are keeping me in their prayers. Thank you for partnering with me in prayer! I know that without those who are a part of my team, both in prayer and finance, I could not be moving forward with what the Lord has for me.

If I have not had the opportunity to meet you or interact with you, welcome! My name is Avalon Luse and I am serving with Ethnos360 as a part of MK Care, which serves missionary kids and their families so that the gospel can go out to all people.
I grew up as a missionary kid overseas in Papua New Guinea. Starting when I was one-year old until I graduated high school when I was nineteen. This experience gave me a passion for missions and a heart for missionary kids. If you are interested in more of my story checkout my website using the QR code in the connect with me section.
