I have had the distinct privilege of ministering with the New Tribes Bible Institute. I have always appreciated my interaction with the students and the faculty. I have found them to be high caliber—high calling servants of the Lord. Their sense of relevant mission is clear and their commitment to biblical training is commendable.

When I think of NTM’s present training program for tribal ministry, here’s what comes to mind: practical, tested in the crucible of tribal work globally, theologically sound, church centered, missiologically astute, cutting edge, team oriented, exit strategy, chronological teaching – all taught by experienced practitioners.
Dr. Tom Steffen
Professor of Intercultural Studies
BIOLA University
For years now New Tribes Mission has been at the cutting edge of pioneer missionizing. Of course, that does not happen apart from cutting-edge missionary preparation. When it comes to down-to-earth training for biblical mission, it would be difficult to improve on the kind of training provided by NTM’s Mission Institute and Language Institute. Their programs must be ranked among the very best available today.

Having worked for 18 years in cross-cultural church planting ministry overseas, both as a practitioner and as a consultant, I highly recommend New Tribes Mission’s training program. Among the many strengths of their excellent program is the fact that they not only help people in understanding the “what” of cross-cultural church planting, but also equip students in the very important and practical “how” of biblical mission; and all this done by godly, fully-committed servants of God.
George Walker,
Worldview Resource Group,
Director of Training
In a day and age when interest in cross cultural missions appears to be waning in the American church, it is worth noting that New Tribes Mission continues its historic commitment to laying the proper foundation for this next generation to prepare them for reaching the most unreached. The way they train their students is exemplary and I gladly endorse their godly activities.

I’m not certain I could list the training classes of NTM, but we certainly know the kind of people produced by NTM’s training programs. Our missionaries meet them all over the world in some of the most out the way places. They invariably greet tired guests with enthusiasm and hospitality and unselfishly share whatever they have. These missionaries also demonstrate a tremendous commitment to getting out the gospel of Jesus Christ not only in word, but also by the manner in which they live and serve one another. I have often said that I wish we could bottle their training, especially as it relates to teamwork and humility. When crises occur, no one is quicker to offer a helping hand than the missionaries of NTM. I know of no organization who prepares people better to live and serve our Lord Jesus Christ to the very ends of the earth.

The NTM training program gives a solid foundation for effective cross-cultural ministry among the neglected people groups of this world.

Evangelizing and church planting among an isolated tribal group like the Yuana people of Venezuela requires a clear understanding of cross cultural communication principles. The message of the Gospel will be interpreted through the cultural grid of the tribal people and will invariably be distorted if great care is not taken in how we present the message. NTM’s training prepared our team to face this challenge and consequently the Gospel was clearly understood by the Yuana. NTM’s training also focuses heavily on our personal walk with the Lord and our relationships with one another as coworkers. I have found this emphasis to be critically important in the work of planting a church amongst the Yuana. I would highly recommend NTM’s training program to anyone hoping to minister cross culturally.
