“Sam met Tom”

October 27, 2007 by

We now have three readers in the family!!!  Saturday was an exciting day as Luke read his first sentence – "Sam met Tom."

I have been working with Luke on phonics and other "school work" as we have time.  We now are at the point where he can sound out words with one vowel.  It was fun for him to see that he can read words and he is excited to keep learning more. Luke sounding out words Of course he still has a long way to go, but it’s a start.  Sometimes (okay, much of the time) I’d rather be helping him learn to read than doing my own work!  He is very fun to teach.

Now I could also include here how literacy will be an important part in the tribal church planting process AND how the ability to read will be vital to the growth and continued well-being of that church.  BUT, we’ll save that for another time!

If you’d like to send Luke a message, please use the comments link below.  Don’t worry, if you use words he can’t read yet, we’ll read it to him.
